Freeborn’s Take

As a leisure mountain bike, the Reaction Hybrid performance is designed for a mixture of flowing off road single track, bridal ways and tarmac. Offered in 5 sizes, 2 battery capacities, standard and trapeze frame types and 3 colorways, there is always a version of the Reaction Hybrid Performance to suit.

The aluminium frame has tidy internally routed cables along with fitments for Cubes own pannier rack, mudguards and kick stand if required. X small and small are supplied with 27.5” wheels and one set of bottle cage mounts whilst medium through to XX large with come with 29” wheels and two sets of bottle cage mounts. All trapeze frames have one set of bottle cage mounts.

Fitted with the quiet and smooth Bosch Generation 3 Performance Cruise motor which produces 65Nm torque the Reaction Hybrid Performance has plenty of power for most riders in all but the most mountainous and challenging of areas. The easy to read Bosch Purion is a compact all in one display which allows you to change assistance modes and see ride information like speed, distance and battery range at the touch of a button. Offered with a choice of 500 and 625Wh batteries, there is a battery to suit your riding needs. The battery can be easily removed from the bike using the included key, so you can choose to charge your battery whilst either installed or removed from the bike.

Quick release wheels front and rear making removing your wheels for transport or servicing a doddle. Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres offer a great compromise between grip when off road and low resistance when on tarmac.

A durable 9 speed Shimano drive train with a 11-36 tooth cassette and 38 tooth chain ring gives you the gear range needed for riding in most areas without costing the earth to replace down the line.

Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes paired with 180mm disc rotors take care of stopping duties, giving consistent, powerful braking in both wet and dry conditions.

Rounding out the Reaction Hybrid Performances specification is a 720mm wide handlebar fitted with Cube lock on grips. The Sequence Natural fit sadly has comfy, soft and supportive padding.
