Ride to School

: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the aim of the scheme?

Riding to school is great fun, and a great way to keep fit!

With increasing cases of childhood obesity and a lack of sporting opportunities as playing fields have been sold off, cycling is an ideal way of introducing fitness into a daily routine.

At Freeborn Bikes we love cycling, and can introduce you to cycling whilst giving you great discounted deals and also helping your school at the same time.

What discount will I get?

You will receive a 10% discount off the retail price of any product we stock – this includes complete bicycles, helmets, clothing and all cycling accessories!

With a huge range of stock from leading companies, and with our expert advice we can put together a great package to suit your needs, whilst you get a fantastic deal.

How does the school benefit?

As well as improving the long-term health of pupils, teachers and families, the school also benefits financially.

Every time you make a purchase, you school will receive a credit for 5% of the retail price.

Every quarter of the year, your school will receive a cheque for the credit they have accrued, the school is then free to spend this money on anything they like!

With school budgets being squeezed every year, this is a great way to help support your school.

How does my school join the scheme?

It’s very simple – just get in touch with our staff and they will take care of everything to register your school – there are no set up costs or any administration work for the school.

Once your school is registered, they will give you a unique code you can use on our website to receive your discounts .

Do I need to attend the school to get discounts?

The scheme is open to everyone associated with the school including pupils, teachers, support staff and parents.

As the school benefits from every sale that is made, you are welcome to give the code to your family and family friends, who will receive their 10% discount with the school getting 5% for every sale you make.

How do we know the school is getting paid?

We keep close track of all purchases made, and will provide the total credit accrued during the quarter to the authorised member of staff at your school upon request.
