New for 2008, designs for women (D4W) mountain bikes declare independence on the trail by forming stand-alone families that allow them even more devoted frame and specification tuning. Through these all new Safire, Era and Myka families, every level of female rider can find the perfect machine for her off-road adventures.

Our local female customers have given us some excellent feedback on the new D4W bikes, and those who have purchased and ridden them have all had good things to say.

Basic Specification

The Myka HT Experts M4 manipulated alloy frame is disc-brake only and uses the womens-specific Designs for Women geometry, with forged dropouts for extra strength.

The RockShox Tora 302 La Femme SL features 32mm Cr-Mo stanchions, and comes with rebound and preload adjustments, plus lockout.

The oversized-diameter Specialized handlebar is a natural-feeling 620mm wide, and features a comfort-increasing 8-degree upsweep and 8-degree backsweep.

Dual-piston Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc brakes deliver smooth, controlled, powerful stops.

Shimanos Deore Rapidfire trigger shifters feature Dual Control for extra-fast shifts, however you prefer.

The Shimano Deore crankset provides quick, easy shifts; the splined Octalink bottom-bracket connection makes for a solid, efficient pedalling platform.

The Specialized Fast Track LK Control 26×2.0-inch tyres feature dual compound treads for superior traction and long-term durability; plus, theyre 2Bliss ready, for when you want to go tubeless.

The Specialized Windie XC uses the patented Body Geometry design to protect your important parts; tuned-density foam padding adds an extra layer of comfort.
