MBR REVIEW
MBR FOX 2011 FORKS FIRST TEST
Fox 32 QR 15
One minor tweak to all 32 forks is that the new 15QR has been whittled down to make it 22g lighter. The new axle is fully compatible with all existing 15QR lowers.
Fox 36 light forks
The big news for 2011 is that Fox has expanded its 36 product line. But before we get to the new forks, we’ll take a look at the improvements that have been made to the existing 160mm travel 36’s. In addition to the KASHIMA coating, all FIT models now get an inverted RLC damper, bringing the adjusters in line with the 2010 32’s. But the damper isn’t the only revision. Thinner wall upper tubes and a redesigned crown save 112g over the old 36 chassis. Combined with lighter damper the overall weight saving is 154g. On the trail, the new 36 Float RLC felt like a beefed up version of the 32. Not surprising really, as both forks now share the same damping technology.
Note
We’re not sure if we could actually feel the benefits of the KASHIMA coating
